In the Data Quality Configure section, map the State attribute to normalize to Full Name, Abbreviated, or custom format.
When selecting the State attribute to normalize, the following options will be available:
Example: State is California before Normalization
- Full Name formats to California
- Abbreviated formats to CA
The Custom format option allows for the loading of a file to determine the format.
Note: If you have picklist values for an attribute in a target system, be sure to normalize to those specific values. If your picklist values aren't standard (e.g. Full Name or Abbreviated versions), you should create a custom file to standardize to the required format in your system.
- Drop/Browse for your file and load
- Select Get Our Template to see an example of what the file should contain before loading
A sample of the template file is shown below:
Note: You'll notice that the Alias column includes many values separated by a comma. This is loaded as a multi-value, text attribute and each of these values will be analyzed individually as a potential match.
